He then attended Lincoln Tech graduating as an electrical technician. Wayne served our country from 1979 to 1981 in the United States Marine Corps. Wayne was a quiet storm and the great debater and the Toomer family often giving us a good laugh. Wayne enjoys life, he loved bowling, chess, and playing pinochle. He loved going to Atlantic City casinos with his son Dwayne hanging out together for several days. He also frequently visited North Carolina spending time with family and friends. Wayne was a true sports fan for all the Philadelphia teams. He also loves listening to the oldies and the music of his time. His greatest love was cooking food for his family and everyone else who visited, challenging who dared tried to out cook in the kitchen. He loved talking about his playing basketball days in this school yard, while reminiscing about drum playing with Charles Young Post and not to leave out W. W. times with his Dogtown friends. He enjoyed his job at Caring heart Manor working alongside Tim, Chuck Chuck and the rest of the staff.

Wayne leaves to cherish his fond memories, four children: Dwayne, Kyle, Sharvon and Kareem; three grandchildren: Rashaad, Kameron, and Kayden; three siblings: two brothers: Eddie (wife Regina), Donnell (Linda), and a sister, Sharon; four nephews: Lance, James, Antoine, and Damon; four nieces: Tiffany, Raina, Christina, and Roshanna; the three olive branches of his children: Alfreda, Sharon, and Patricia; the elder family cousins: Ann, Jimmy and Belinda; a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends; Latoya and five honorary grandchildren that know him as their Pop Pop; his soul-mate Patricia Lightly and special friends: Ron, Tim, Chuck Chuck and Joyce.
