Obituary

Sonja A. Smith, affectionately known to her sisters as "Sony", passed away on February 9, 2021 at the age of 71. Sonja was born on February 4, 1950 in Anderson, South Carolina.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, Earlene, and Herman Smith; and one sister, Joyce Smith.
She attended and graduated from Germantown High School in Philadelphia, PA. She began employment with Eaton Corporation and retired from the State.
Sonja was feisty and had spunk. If one of us didn't agree with her, she would deploy her favorite line saying, "respect your elders, I'm the oldest."  She would look around for approval and we would all laugh. She definitely marched to the beat of her own drum, in life and when dancing!
Throughout her life Sonja was very generous. She loved nice things and wanted the same for others. She was a blessing to her nieces and nephews. She would put a lot of time and thought into every gift. She will be forever in our hearts.
Sonja will be remembered by her sisters: Debra, Theresa, Vickie, and Felicia; nieces:  Kimberly and Shawn; nephews: Abdul, Ryan, and Branden; great-nieces: Blayr, Vida, Makayla, Brooklyn, and Breelyn; great-nephews: Tyrone Jr., Nyaim, and Nyseim; longtime boyfriend Raymond Wilson; as well as a host of additional family and friends.
