Obituary

Paul Moyde the son of the late Eliza J. Miller (Moyde) and Ham McCray was born April 7, 1940, in Williamsburg County, Nesmith South Carolina. Paul was educated in the Williamsburg County school system.

As a young teenager, Paul ventured out of South Carolina to the grand city of Manhattan New York, where he took on the job as a cook at several restaurants.  Paul later moved to Philadelphia PA, where he became a warehouse line cook for Tastykake and Dannon.   It is also the same place Paul met and married the love of his life the beautiful late Janie Moyde.

Paul enjoyed cooking, but he loved to eating more; fish, squirrel, rabbit, duck… just about anything except for lamb.  Paul uses to travel from Philly to New York just under 2 hours to visit his family and dear friend the late Bartee Scott.  Paul would spend most of his time with Bartee watching sports and talking about the latest news.

Paul is predeceased by his wife Janie Moyde, his parents Eliza J Miller (Moyde) and Ham McCray, his sisters Daisy and Hattie.
Paul had fallen ill in August of 2023.  On June 27, 2024 the pendulum on the clock paused and he quietly made his exit.  He was loved by many and will be truly missed.

He leaves to celebrate his life; Daughter Theresa Gunter (GA), Sister Rosa L Cooper (NY), Niece T. Nicole Ridgway (Erwin) (NY), Partner Sally Durante (PA), 4 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grand Children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
We thank the Barnes family for checking in on Paul as he approached his final days.  Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support during this time.

May his soul, rest in peace.
