Joyce Yvonne Elam - Tyler, affectionately known as Boops, was born on July 3, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She passed away on March 8, 2025. Joyce was a dedicated maintenance worker at ABM, serving at the University City District Site. She was predeceased by her parents, James Elam II and Geraldine Floyd, and her beloved husband, Raymond Tyler.

Joyce is survived by her son, Derrick Walker, and her daughters, Markedia Elam and Theresa Jackson. She also leaves behind her godson, Christopher Goldsby, her brother, James Elam III, and her sister, Janice Stokes. Joyce was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren.
