John aka "Cookie Jarvis", "Ricky", or "Rick-Rick" was born on April 28th, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Willard and Francis Jones. He was the youngest of 8 siblings. As the baby of the family he was praised, spoiled, and loved.
He was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School class of 1983, and the School of Hard Knocks. At a young age he was a fighter, hard worker, and businessman. He had numerous jobs from a package handler at FedEx to working on a hot dog cart at the Vet Stadium. He later went on to become a vendor of his own hot dog cart in his early twenties, one of many business pursuits. John began working for printing companies such as American Bank Note and Gemalto as a feeder operator and later pressman for over 20 years.
In 1987 John was married to Elaine, his former wife, the mother of his only child, Tiffany. John had dreams of country living on acres of open land. Eventually leaving the city he relocated to Ambler, PA, a small suburb outside of Philly where he lived with his family and worked hard to make his dreams come true. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed running, going to the gym, doing yard work/projects, gardening, taking family vacations, and reading scriptures.
December 11, 2004 John was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was devoted to his worship. He enjoyed attending meetings, going in field service, and fellowship with the congregation.
John was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany, and her mother, Elaine; his siblings: Susan, Barbara, Willie, and Sarah; his granddaughter, Jaylei, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
