Gloria Lee
Simon
Jan 28, 1937 — Jul 18, 2025
Philadelphia
Gloria Simon was born January 28, 1937, to William & Martha Epps, Sr. She was the oldest of
eleven children.
Gloria lived a life devoted to her family and her religion. She was a cherished sister, a beloved
aunt, and a loyal friend. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who
knew her. She found joy in simple pleasures, always offering a warm smile and a comforting
word.
She worked at John F. Kennedy Hospital most of her life as supervisor of the Dietary
Department. She was dedicated and known for her commitment and care in her profession.
She met her husband, Walter Simon (deceased), in Ocean City, NJ. They married and from that
union came Regina, Joanne, Patricia & Bruce.
She was an avid Jehovah's Witness and dedicated most of her life to serving Jehovah; sixty-
three years to be exact. She would light up whenever she was talking about Jehovah. When she
wasn't working, she was always out in the ministry spreading the word of Jehovah. The highlight
of her life was when her sisters became part of Jehovah's Kingdom. She was elated. Happy as
a lark. They were extremely close, and becoming Jehovah's Witnesses made them closer.
She is survived by her son, Bruce, and her daughters, Regina, Joanne, and Patricia. Gloria also
leaves behind her brothers, Larry Epps and Roland Epps, and her sisters, Bertha Epps and
Carol Dixon. Her family and friends will remember her fondly for her warmth and kindness.
She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Simon; her parents, Martha & William Epps, Sr.;
her sisters, Mildred Epps & Hilda Williams; her brothers, Cleo Epps (Bubbie), James Epps,
William Epps Jr., and Rufus Epps; and her granddaughter, Rashida Simon.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Regina, Joanne, Patricia, her son Bruce,
her grandchildren Robin, Bernard, Dwayne, Kim, Latosha, Nikiya, Jules, Alicia, Bruce Jr &
Brandi; her great-grandchildren Bernard Jr, D'juan, Dhafir, Tristen, Chase, Cree, Najah, Salim,
Storm, A'Miracle, Zaibin, Jasheed, Victorious, Justice, Jabraiya, Nekhia, Nasuh, Jules Jr, Tony,
Kyree, Nikelle; great great-grandchildren A'Mour, Kamaurii, Zu'bair, Naeloni, Nahiya, Kaidyn
and a host of nieces and nephews.
