Evone
Walker
May 21, 1948 — Aug 6, 2026
Philadelphia
her journey...was one marked by quiet power, unwavering love, and the determination to shape a world around her defined not merely by bricks and pavement, but by warmth and deep-rooted devotion.
Evone Walker, born Evone Baskerville on May 21, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, departed this world on August 6, 2026, in Abington, Pennsylvania. Her journey, which began beneath the proud skyline of her native city, was one marked by quiet power, unwavering love, and the determination to shape a world around her defined not merely by bricks and pavement, but by warmth and deep-rooted devotion.
To know Evone was to sense her presence: steady, generous, and ever nurturing. With the boundless responsibilities she shouldered, she crowned herself—rightfully—as C.E.O. Of her Household. This was no mere title, but the embodiment of a purposeful life: a household brimming with care, resilience, and the kind of joy found in life's simplest moments. Within those walls she orchestrated daily successes and weathered countless storms with grace, instilling lessons of kindness, strength, and self-belief by example.
Her early years in Philadelphia laid the groundwork for the woman she would become. As a proud high school graduate, Evone understood the value of learning and the dignity of self-improvement. Her achievements served as a beacon to those who followed, making clear that one’s ambitions are worthy and that growth endures, even long after the books are closed and the tassels have been turned.
Evone's life was tied inextricably to the people and places she cherished. Though the records that remain may not list beloved names of family or friends, her legacy is etched in the lives she touched, the warmth she spread, and the gentle, steady encouragement she gave. Her roots in Philadelphia ran deep, nourishing not just her own journey but those lucky enough to cross her path—neighbors, classmates, and every soul who stepped into her orbit.
Evone understood the value of learning and the dignity of self-improvement.
The community is invited to honor Evone’s memory and celebrate her extraordinary life at her viewing on August 21, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Bibleway Baptist Church of Mt. Airy, 1201 East Mount Pleasant Avenue, Philadelphia. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location, where all who were touched by her presence are welcome to join in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. Evone will then be laid to rest on August 24, 2026, at Washington Crossings National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA, with burial commencing at 11:30 am.
In every chapter of her story, Evone Walker leaves behind a legacy of dignity, steadfastness, and gentle leadership—a spirit that will endure in the hearts of those who remember her, even as she takes her well-deserved place among the cherished souls departed.
