Obituary

Dorothy Mayo, fondly known as "Dot", stepped from this life into her Heavenly Father's arms on August 3, 2021 .  After a lengthy illness, she breathed a final goodbye.
She was born April 6, 1924 to James Arthur Mayo and Mary Woodson Mayo who both preceded her in death.  She was the last of eight children to be heavenly reunited with her mother and father. :Virginia, Irene, James, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Dorothy, Nathaniel, William and Alfred also preceded her in death.
Dot was a long time resident of Philadelphia residing in The Opportunity Towers on West Hunting Park where she had many friends.  She was originally from Danville, Virginia where she returned to her roots often to visit with family and friends. She joined Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church before becoming a long time member of Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church. She loved to cook and one of her favorite hobbies was to sew. Dot loved her family very much and was always there for them when they needed her.
She leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, grand and great.  One special niece, Jean Crudup, and one special great niece, Debra Pinkney.
The family says goodbye to Dot until we all meet on that celestial shore and sing together, "How I Got Over."
