Obituary

Christine Phillips was born on September 29, 1933, to the late Pervis and Maggie Scott, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The family consisted of four sons and two daughters; in addition, two adoptive sons who were raised by her parents.

Christine was educated in the Philadelphia school system and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She retired in 1993 from Metropolitan Hospital. She loved her job and worked at many prestigious hospitals in the Philadelphia area. She was always known affectionately on her job, as "Scotty", and especially "Sweets". She loved to travel and did numerous trips and cruises with family and friends.
She always had an infectious smile and loved doing so. She was doggedly generous and would help anyone when she could. Always the "Party Starter", she would give you her "best", and her "last".
But above all she LOVED the LORD! Before she started her day, she prayed and read her scriptures. She Loved her soap operas and from 12:30 to 2:00, she would "shut it down", until they went off. In addition, she loved entertaining and having "cocktails" with others and would get "fired up on all four channels". She was also an avid reader. She made a permanent impact on others, and because of her generous spirit, she was LOVED and appreciated by all.
After living strong, despite becoming ill, she expired with her children by her side. She was proceeded in death by her older sister, Georgiana Hurder, her brothers, Willie, C. L., and two others, Ernest, and Eddie McCall.
Her memory will be cherished as she leaves behind, her children, her daughter, Sharon Pringle; her son, Anthony Phillips; a daughter-in-law, Lisa; two brothers: Alfonso and John Byrd Scott; and his wife, Vernice; five grandchildren: Nathaniel, Eric, Dominique, Joshua, and Melissa. In addition, numerous great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as special friends: Aunt Neet, Ms. Linda, Ms. Mozell, Ms. Marlow, Ms. Helen, Ms. Nettie, Ms. Peaches, Charles "Weeks" Wilson, and Gregg "Gunn" Coles and an additional host of loved ones, family, and friends.
Rest well, "Sweets", the LORD has opened the gates of Heaven for You to come in, your well-Deserved Crown and Wings are waiting...........
